August 16, 2016 Vasu Subbiah

CloudVelox has been working hard on new features and enhancements to our award winning One Hybrid Cloud (OHC) software platform. With the One Hybrid Cloud v2.5 release, CloudVelox has incorporated valuable feedback from customers and partners in further simplifying the process of migration or protection of application workloads in the cloud. Key features of OHC v2.5 include the following:

  1. PV to HVM migration: Enterprises that have a need for high memory or CPU count for their enterprise applications instances in the cloud can now take advantage of the new HVM (hardware virtual machine) from AWS. However,  migrating from PV (paravirtualized) to HVM can ben challenging since it involves a manual 17 step process. With OHC 2.5, the conversion process is automated and can typically be executed in 5 simple steps (for a description of PV and HVM please go to the following link http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/virtualization_types.html)
  2. 3rd Party Discovery Tool integration: Enterprises typically plan their cloud migration process by starting with the discovery of the servers/VM assets in their data center and then prioritizing the servers/application workloads. Discovery tools are used to get a detailed analysis and inventory of the infrastructure. OHC v2.5 integrates with a popular 3rd party discovery tool to enable customers to plan their application migration process from their data center to the cloud.
  3. Oracle Linux 7.2 support: For customers that are running Oracle database and Oracle applications on Oracle Linux, CloudVelox has always supported Oracle RMAN and Oracle Data Guard based migration and recovery. With OHC v2.5, CloudVelox has enabled support for the latest version of Oracle Linux thus providing a smooth transition for customers that are using the upgraded version of Oracle Linux 7.2.
  4. IAM Policy Filtering: Enterprises with strict compliance and security guidelines for software deployment in the cloud restrict access to resources by their own and third party software (in the cloud). OHC v2.5 supports the filtered IAM policy for security hardened AWS VPC cloud deployment and ensuring compliance.

OHC v2.5 is available now. Please connect with your CloudVelox team or partner to learn more about OHC v2.5. Or, you can send an email to info@cloudvelox.com and we will get in touch to help with your cloud migration or cloud recovery needs.  I am confident you will find the features and enhancement useful in your cloud migration and cloud recovery projects. Looking forward to connecting with you.

Sincerely

Vasu
